1/2 cup light margarine
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Methods/steps

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray an 11"x 8.5" baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, with an electric mixer, cream together margarine and brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla extract. Stir in the flour and oats; mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cool on a wire rack for 3 to 5 minutes. When chips have melted, spread evenly over bars. Top with chopped nuts.
